Things I couldn't have lived without

Being the mom of twins, I have a few items I just couldn't have made it through the first few months without.

1. Strollers: Lots of them. I started with a Duoglider its a tandem, an inline, you know front to back. I quickly abandoned this when I realized how hard it is to get two infant seats on to the stroller. I opted for the double snap and go for as long as the boys were happy in their infant seats. We then moved into the Combi Twin Savvy, which we still use for going into tight places, doctors' offices, stores, restaurants. Our almost everyday stroller is the Double Jogger. Many of my friends have the Bob, which is absolutely glorious. We chose the Dreamer Design, for the double wheels. I felt with all the crazy places we go, riverside, hiking trails, horse trails, the two wheels gives us, me, a better sense of stability. Although I've driven the Bob, and it's pretty darn stable.

I also have two umbrella strollers that are wonderful if we have the boys separated. Or if we are together in an extra tight space. I love these lightweight additions to our fleet. (BTW: I'm looking to sell the Duoglider, and the Snap and go if anyone is interested.)

2. Swings: Our boys loved swings. For the first few months home, they'd swing away happy as could be during naps, or Mommy's pumping, or potty breaks! We couldn't live without them. There are a ton of models out there but ours was great because it had multiple modes, directions, music, basically the whole nine yards.

3. Pumping bra: Okay, when I saw this in a magazine, before I had the boys, I thought it was the most ridiculous thing on the earth. (could be the horrible photo in their ads, I'd suggest some marketing revamps) I COULD NOT have made it through 26 week twins, who couldn't nurse, pumping and providing them with breast milk for MUCH longer than a year, with out this handy dandy little invention. (I had like 3 or 4 in the end, and I wore holes in them massaging the clogs out of my breasts) This allowed me to eat, feed a baby, read, talk on the phone, and just about anything else you can think of, all while pumping.

Those are three of the things just in the first few months that were essential to my sanity. I'll post more essentials for the second year, soon.
